A gentle reminder of forgotten knowledge!

I was given a copy of 'Waking From Sleep' by a good friend...best gift, by far!

'Waking From Sleep' is a gentle reminder of knowledge that we have forgotten. We have all had "Ah ha!" moments, where EVERYTHING suddenly makes sense. We have a greater comprehension of the Universe, our role in the Universe, our connection to everything & everyone. These moments are often clarifying, humbling, awe-inspiring, and incredibly indescribable...and yet many of us never speak of or share the experiences with others. Having had quite a number of these experiences throughout my life, it was beautiful to read of others having similar experiences!

'Waking' is not a "how-to" book, which I found wonderful. It seeks to explore the nature of awakening experiences, and offers practical suggestions to bring these moments of clarity into your life, as well as make them last as long as possible. It's a gentle nudge onto the path that is right for you, and a gentle reminder of knowledge that we already have within us but seem to have forgotten.

I've suggested this book to many close friends, and suggest it to you as well! VERY enlightening read!

So good, I bought the author's other books as well!

Have you ever wondered why you have a mystical experience? It just seems to come out of nowhere. Well, this book dispels the mystery in the mystic! We learn from Steve exactly what causes these peak experiences, as well as the three levels of their intensity.

The author also explains the differences between temporary and permanent shifts. He gives examples of and essays by people who have had these experiences.

The author claims we need to wake up to save not only humanity, but the Earth. He provides tools to do so. Drug experiences and even traveling can give you temporary experiences, but it seems meditation is the best way to pursue a permanent shift.

This book was so good that I bought the author's others books. Since one is only available to me (I live in Ecuador) by Kindle, I even got my kindle out of the box it had been in for nearly a year, and finally used it!

This book delivered all i was expecting from my reading of Taylor's other books - making time and the fall.

it gives and excellent overview of the whole area of enlightenment , and spiritual / religious experiences. and then goes on to provide a road map we can follow to get there ourselves. of particular use to me was his deconstruction and classification of the different types of experience and their differing sources. he has done what i imagine Victorian / Edwardian gentlemen to have done in the early days of modern science - taken a chaotic jumble of different 'types' and organized them into species, genre, genus and so on. - an order (much like the periodic table)that gives us a much more complete and instant understanding of where everything lies. fantastic -

highly recommended

i'd also recommend; How to Live in the Here and Now: A Guide for Accelerated Practical Enlightenment! for a detailed description of how to apply various techniques to release one's self from ego / time / values and so on.- compared to so many enlightenment atlases out there - I'd say this is the travelers guide.

If you are in business, you are bound to find some useful insights in this book, which I'd say is essential reading for today's business people.

It's also great fun and very enlightening. Sugar comes across as someone of great integrity and seriousness.

Alan Sugar rose from the modest Clapton neighborhood of London's East End to become Lord Sugar of Clapton, a life peer, multi-millionaire, founder and owner of successful electronic businesses, star of the BBC's The Apprentice and advisor to the British government on business issues. Of all of his accomplishments and acknowledgements, I suspect his most cherished honor would be to be recognized as an entrepreneur extraordinaire.

Starting as a pre-teen recognizing that one garment manufacturer's scrap material trimmings were a valuable resource to another person, Sugar began a career of recognizing opportunities and, as important, acting on them. If opportunities were not readily available, Sugar developed his own by building not just a better mouse trap, but a cheaper mouse trap too.

His autobiography contains valuable lessons for any aspiring entrepreneur as well as leadership skills that can be used by project managers, administrators and top executives in profit making, non- profit and governmental organizations. The book is an easy read, written in a narrative style, and with nearly 600 pages in length, the reader can put the book down and resume reading at the next convenient opportunity.

A BRILLIANT DEBUT --- THIS ONE IS A KEEPER!

Brenda Novak's stunning debut novel, OF NOBLE BIRTH, is a fast-paced historical romance, a High Seas adventure with walk-off-the-page characters so vital they'll steal your heart from the first page! This is one I could not put down. Ms. Novak pulls out all the stoppers, proving herself to be a most skilled wordsmith with her vivid portrayal of characters, time and place. Darkly handsome but marred Nathaniel Kent comes boldly alive, making our hearts race as we follow him along the path to attaining his life-mission: exacting revenge on his noble but utterly cold father. Seamstress Alexandra Cogsworth is his ideal match, and as with Nathaniel, Ms. Novak has created an endearing character, one you'll root for from the moment she walks onto the page. This is one novel without any flaws, everything works just right, casting a magical spell as you read. Ms. Novak sweeps you so thoroughly into her character's lives and world, you'll imagine yourself right there with them. Exceptional

This book was unique. The main characters were so real, I couldn't put it down. Lots of twists and surprises and a great theme. This is not a novel where you skip to the good parts because it's all good. I can't wait for Ms. Novak's next book!

A True Historical Romance

While I read several of the reviews, the one deemed Most Helpful Critcal Reveiw is grossly unfair. I know, I know, no one said life is fair.

I found this to be a good solid historical romance. There was not anything in way of blantant sex or other context that shows up in many of these novels which for the time period seems inappropriate. It required you in many cases to supply your own details from the imagination.

I love Alexander the lowly seamtress paired with the Pirate of Noble birth, Nathanial. I found the idea of his infirmity novel, and his strength of body and character so strong you forgot he was flawed.

I hated his father the Duke and his brother right on cue as these stories dicatate, and felt simpathy for Nathanials mother and the second wife. I like Lady Ann his half sister although she played a very small part of the story.

I loved ending and Alexander's compassion, in the end for the old sick Duke, or was it a tiny bit of revenge. You decide.

All in all I thought it was a good rendering for the time period and I enjoyed it very much. I believe it was worth the time and the money.

I would recommend it.

Essential reading for anyone dealing with a nursing home

The information in this book was extremely valuable when my mother needed to go into a nursing home. This is the only book I have found that clearly explained how the sytem works, how to get someone in, Medicare, Medicaid, and how to deal with the staff and administrators. The author knows all this because she herself works in that system. Highly recommended.

If you have an elderly parent buy this book

It's better to be informed than to have this stuff come as a shock. It will explain everything, and help you to cope.

I bought this book a few weeks ago when my mother had a stroke.

All the things the author warned about happened (don't let them move your loved one from the hospital to the nursing home at night, make sure they have the records and permission for pain medications, etc.) I sat there all the first night in the nursing home with my mother - no pain medication, no records, and a fried chicken meal for a stroke patient who couldn't chew or swallow. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to look at the book until a few days after she was admitted; I could have avoided all this.

Now that I've read the rest, I feel better about her being there. There won't be any more surprises and I will know how to deal with issues as they come up. I am fortunate that my mother is recovering and will be home soon. Thanks to this book, I'll be better prepared if it happens again.

A letdown

This book may be helpful to others, however I previously read "75 Tips You Need to Know About Nursing Homes. I didn't see anything more helpful in this book. I will still recommend "75 Tips You Need to Know About Nursing Homes" over this one.
